Grilled Pork Belly with Potato Patties

Pane-Bistecca
A very quick and easy dish is grilled pork belly with potato patties.

I still had some mashed potatoes, which I often use to make potato patties. We loved them as children!

To go with it, I grilled a thin slice of pork belly in the oven until it was nice and crispy. Make the dish more interesting with a sauce, such as sweet chili sauce for dipping, or a Garlic-Mayonnaise.

Ingredients

  • 1 slice of pork belly, approx. 300 g

  • Salt and Pepper

  • Chili Flakes

  • Dried herbs as desired

  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil

  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch

  • Potato Patties

  • Potato Patties use this Recipe without the Leek

Instructions

1

Step 1

Cut the pork belly into bite-sized pieces and mix with the other ingredients. Leave to marinate for 5 minutes.
2

Step 2

Then place the meat pieces on a greased grill plate and roast in the oven at 200°C for 10 minutes, then turn and roast for another 8-10 minutes. Again, the thickness of the meat determines how long it needs to be roasted.
3

Step 3

If you roast it using the grill function in the oven, you need to shorten the time and keep an eye on it! You can also roast it in an air fryer!

Notes

Serve the meat with the potato pancakes, adding a dip if desired.
