
Steak from the Grill

We barbecue a lot in summer, and I served my family steak from the grill. I served it with Baked Potatoes with various toppings and grilled vegetables.
What’s important when grilling steak is the heat! Sure, on a charcoal grill you place the steaks on the hot embers and grill until they are cooked through. But with a gas barbecue you can regulate it much better. We heat the grill up to 200 C degrees, place the steaks on the grid, lower the heat to 180 C degrees and let the steak cook. Of course, you can serve the meat with various sauces, such as Chimichurri, Herb Butter, or einer BBQ Sauce.

Ingredients
4 Rib Eye Steaks, slightly streaked
3 Garlic cloves, coarsely chopped
2 tbsp Mustard
1 tsp Garlic Chili Sauce
1 tsp Thyme
½ tsp Paprika
Salt and Pepper
Chili Powder
3-4 tbsp Olive Oil
1-2 Eggplants
1 Handful Carrots
1 red Capsicum
2 yellow Capsicum
Thyme
Salt
Olive Oil
Marinade
Grill Vegetables
Instructions

Step 1
Mix the marinade together and pour into a container. Add the steaks and shake well to distribute the marinade. Leave to marinate for 1 hour.

Meanwhile, cut the vegetables into sticks and place on a grill tray. Sprinkle with salt, add the thyme and drizzle with olive oil.

Heat the gas grill to 200 C degrees and place the vegetables on the tray in the heat. Close the lid and roast for 15-20 minutes.

Then place the steaks on the grill, turn the heat down to 180 C degrees and grill for 3-4 minutes. Turn and grill again for approx. 3 minutes. (This way the steaks are medium rare. 1 minute longer it will be medium, then medium-well and the longest it will be well done).
Notes
Serve immediately with the vegetables and potatoes.
