Ein ganz schnelles Fingerfood Rezept, das wunderbar schmeckt und auch sehr schoen aussieht. Bekanntlich isst ja das Auge mit! Ich finde halt, als Halbitalienerin, alles was die italienische Landesfarben hat, schoen und erfrischend! Und diese Tomaten Quadrate sind nun mal genau das Richtige fuer mich! Ich liebe rote Tomaten, ich liebe Mozzarella und ich liebe Basilikum. Dieses Fingerfood ist schnell gemacht, schnell in den Ofen geschoben und schnell gegessen!

I bring you a quick and easy finger-food recipe which looks good and tastes delicious. We say, you also eat with your eyes. I as a half Italian think, food in the three country colors of Italy is delicious! And these tomato squares are perfect for me! I love red tomatoes; I love Mozzarella and I love basil. This finger-food is quickly done, quickly baked and quickly eaten!

Fuer 28 Tomaten Quadrate:
6 Tomaten, in ca 1 cm dicke Scheiben geschnitten
kleine Mozzarellakugeln, ich habe die kleinsten gewaehlt
Frischer Basilikum
1 ausgewallter Blaetterteig von 35/20 cm
Salz und Pfeffer
Oregano

Den Blaetterteig auf einem Backpapier in einem Backblech in 5 cm grosse Quadrate schneiden. Je eine Tomatenscheibe, 1-2 Basilikum Blaetter und 3 Mozzarellakuegelchen darauf geben. Mit Salz, Pfeffer und Oregano wuerzen. Im Ofen bei 200 C Grad ca 20 Minuten backen. Die Quadrate koennen warm oder kalt gegessen werden.

For 28 Tomato Squares:
6 Tomatoes, cut in approx. 1 cm thick slices
small Mozzarella balls, I used the very small ones
Fresh Basil
1 ready rolled out Puff Pastry Sheet of 35/20 cm
Salt and Pepper
Oregano

Put the ready rolled out puff pastry onto a baking paper onto a baking tray and cut it into 5 cm squares. Put one slice of tomato onto each square, add 1-2 leaves of basil and 3 small balls of Mozzarella. Season with salt, pepper and oregano. Bake in the oven at 200 C for 20 minutes. You can serve the tomato squares hot or cold.
