Indian Potato Croquettes

Potato patties, with a difference! Indian potato croquettes are highly recommended. Seasoned with the typical Indian spices, when you smell them, you immediately go on a journey in your head! They go well with many things, you can serve them as a vegetarian snack with some spiced Yogurt they taste delicious! But they also go very well with roast chicken, or a delicious fish or even with vegetable curry!

Ingredients
4 large Potatoes, floury
2 chopped green or red Chilis
1 Onion, chopped
2 cm Ginger, grated
1 tsp Turmeric
1 tsp Mustard Seeds
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
Salt
Chili powder to taste
220 g Atta flour or Chickpea flour
1/2 tsp Turmeric

Step 1
Boil the potato until soft and press through the passe vite. (I just mashed mine with a spoon, leaving chunks)

Heat some oil in a wide pan and fry the mustard seeds and cumin seeds. When it cracks and splutters, add the onion, chili, turmeric powder and salt. After about 2 minutes, add the mashed potatoes. (I also mixed in some fresh coriander) Mix everything well, then shape into balls.

In a bowl, mix the atta flour with a little salt and 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder. Now add just enough water to make a thick batter. Add the potato balls and dip them in it. Fry in hot oil.
