Rosetten Fritters zum Karneval– Rosette Cookies for the Carnival
Pane-bistecca
I’ve had this rosette iron for carnival rosette fritters in my cupboard for a long time and just now it fell into my hands. Well, what do you do when you have too much time and no internet? It’s handy that it’s carnival season and I think these cookies are perfect for it! I still have to use up some eggs and flour, so they’re just right!
They are actually very simple and quick to make. And served with sugar, chocolate, or vanilla sauce, they taste really good! I made part of the batter with vanilla and the other part with cocoa powder.

Ingredients
130 g Flour
200 ml Milk
¼ tsp Salt
1 tbsp Vanilla Sugar
1 tsp Sugar
(for the Chocolate half of the batter 1 heaped tsp Cocoa Powder)
1 Egg
Oil for frying
Instructions
1
Step 1
Mix all ingredients together and beat with a whisk.
2
Step 2
Half the dough and add the cocoa powder to one half, mix well.
3
Step 3
Heat approx. 4 cm oil in a wok up to 180 C (if you have a fryer use it). Put a plate next to it with a double layer of kitchen paper. This is to put the freshly fried cookies in to drip the oil from.

Step 4
Screw the iron you want to use onto the handle and dip it shortly into the oil, then let it drip off on the kitchen paper. Now dip the iron in the batter, but so, that the batter doesn’t get over the top, or the cookies will not fall off the iron.

Step 5
Now dip the iron in the batter, but so, that the batter doesn’t get over the top, or the cookies will not fall off the iron. Put the iron into the hot oil, after a few seconds the batter will fall off it. If not help it off with a wooden skewer.

Step 6
Turn the cookie over and a few second take it from the oil. It really takes just very little time. Serve the cookies with sugar or with vanilla or chocolate sauce.
Notes
They are best eaten fresh but kept in an airtight box they can also be served the next day. Here are more Carnival Recipes
