Dies ist ein ganz einfaches Gericht, das man super als Frühstück oder als Snack auftischen kann. Tortang Hipon – Filipino Golden Shrimp Omelet. Es ist schnell gemacht und schmeckt echt toll. Normalerweise werden die kleinen getrockneten Shrimps dazu benützt, die mag ich aber nicht, deshalb habe ich frische benützt. Serviert wird diese Tortang Hipon mit Knoblauchreis, Bananen Ketchup oder gewürztem Essig. Das ist ein klassisches philippinisches Frühstück!

This is a very simple dish, which can be served as breakfast or snack. It’s cooked quickly and tastes wonderful. Normally this dish is made with the small dried shrimps, but I don’t like them. I used fresh ones. Served is this dish with garlic rice and banana ketchup or spiced vinegar. This is a classic Filipino breakfast!

Tortang Hipon - Filipino Golden Shrimp Omelet

Fuer 4 Personen:
3 Eier
150 g frische, geschaehlte Garnelen
2 Knoblauchzehen, gehackt
2 Fruehlingszwiebeln, gehackt
1 gehaeufter TL Speisestaerke
Salz und Pfeffer
Oel zum Braten

Die Eier aufschlagen und mit der Speisestaerke, dem Knoblauch, Fruehlingszwiebeln, Salz und Pfeffer mischen. Die Garnelen zugeben und mischen. Oel in einer flachen Pfanne erhitzen und handteller grosse Omeletten backen. Heiss servieren.

For 4 Persons:
3 Eggs
150 g fresh, peeled Shrimps
2 cloves of Garlic, chopped
2 Spring-onion, chopped
1 heaped tsp Cornstarch
Salt and Pepper
Oil for frying

Beat up the eggs and mix with the cornstarch, garlic, spring-onion, salt and pepper. Add the peeled shrimps and mix. Heat oil in a flat pan and add batches of the batter and fry until golden. Serve hot.
