
Baked Meat Rolls

Baked meat rolls can be made in different ways. Either you place meat between two slices of bread, or you wrap the meat into bread dough. This recipe is the second type. It is perfect for picnics, as snack, or as party food. You can enjoy them warm or cold. If you like it really hearty, add grated cheese or bacon around the meatball.
The bread dough recipe is actually suitable for milk rolls, so you can also make them without filling, and they taste very good.

Ingredients
For 15 Milk Rolls
450 g white Bred Flour
50 g soft Butter
1 tbsp Sugar
1 tsp Salt
11 g Dried Yeast
300 ml Milk
500 g ground Beef
200 g Cream Cheese
2 pressed Garlic cloves
Salt and Pepper
Paprika
Rosemary

Step 1
For the rolls, mix the flour with the sugar and yeast. Add the butter and pour in the lukewarm milk. Combine and add the salt.

Knead everything together into a soft dough, cover with a cloth, and let rise for about 1.5 hours.

Meanwhile, knead the filling ingredients together well. Then form 15 balls. Place in the refrigerator until the dough has risen.

After rising, shape the dough into a thick roll and cut it into 15 equal pieces.

Now fill each piece with meat: take a piece of dough and flatten it with your hand. Place this piece in the palm of your hand and place a meatball on top.
Now fold the sides of the dough over the meat and pinch them together until the meat is completely enclosed in bread dough. Make sure that all the “seams” are well pinched and do not open.

Now place the ball on a floured surface and roll it with the palm of your hand until it is evenly round. Place on a baking sheet and cover with a cloth. Fill all 15 rolls in this way.

Let the rolls rise for another 10 minutes, then brush them with egg yolk. Bake the rolls at 200°C for 25-35 minutes.
