Knoblauchbutter Garnelen aus dem Ofen – Garlic Butter Prawns from the Oven

2 Mins read

I was at the market and believe me, here the fish and seafood is more than fresh. The Chinese love their seafood and fish! I am completely fascinated by all the choice and the freshness, than the fish is mostly still alive. You can find any fish, mussels, octopus, shrimps, prawns, anything every day very fresh! I love to go shopping there as the price is right too! I made this recipe once with big prawns and once with shrimps. The prawns can be filled singularly, but the shrimps can just be toped with the garlic butter.

Knoblauchbutter Garnelen aus dem Ofen

So gehts:

Per person use 3 prawns, that is enough, served with rice, for a main meal. If you like more use 4-5 per person.
Wash the prawns and remove the head under the flowing tab. Then remove the shells and legs. Pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
Lay them on a cutting board belly-up and cut through the middle, not all the way through and remove the black vein (the vein will make the prawn bitter, so it has to be removed!) This is called butterfly. Put the prawns into a greased oven-proof dish.

For the garlic butter:
4 cloves of Garlic, mashed and chopped
70 g Butter, soft
1/2 bunch Parsley, chopped
Salt and Pepper
Zest of 1 Lemon

mix all the ingredients well together and put some on each prawn. Bake at 230 C for 10 minutes and serve with rice.
