Garnelen, Shrimps und Prawns, mögen bei uns fast alle. Mein Liebster rennt ihnen zwar nicht nach, aber dafür isst meine Tochter seine Portion (und manche mehr) gerne mit! Oft mache ich sie im ganz einfachen Stil, mit Knoblauch gebraten, doch diesmal wollte ich sie ganz anders kochen. Ich wollte sie knusprig und mit Dip.

Da habe ich eine ganz feine, einfache Methode gemacht, die auch glutenfrei ist. Dazu einen Dip aus ein paar Zutaten, die immer zuhause sind und meine Familie hat sich die Finger geleckt!

Almost everyone in our house loves shrimp and prawns. My beloved isn’t that happy with them however my daughter likes to eat his portion (and some more)! I often make them in a very simple style, fried with garlic, but this time I wanted to cook them very differently. I wanted them crispy and with dip.

That’s when I found a really fine, simple way which is also gluten free. Add a dip made with a few ingredients I always have at home and my family licked their fingers!

Knusper-Garnelen mit Dip

Für 4 Personen:
800 g grosse Garnelen, geschält
50 g ganz feines Maismehl
Salz und Pfeffer
Oel zum Braten

Dip:
100 g Mayonnaise
2 EL Sriracha
2 EL Sweet Chili Sauce
1 TL Zucker
Gehackte Kräuter nach Wunsch

Die Garnelen von oben her einschneiden, aber nicht ganz durch, dann die Garnele platt drücken, das nennt man Butterfly cut. Das Maismehl in eine kleine Schüssel geben und mit Salz und Pfeffer würzen. Die Garnelen im Mehl gut wenden, dann in heissem Oel allseitig braten. Unterdessen die Zutaten des Dips gut vermischen. Beides zusammen servieren.

For 4 Persons:
800 g large Prawns, peeled
50 g very fine Corn Flour
Salt and Pepper
Oil for frying

Dip:
100 g Mayonnaise
2 tbsp Sriracha
2 tbsp Sweet Chili Sauce
1 tsp Sugar
Chopped Herbs as desired

Cut into the shrimp from the top, but not all the way through, then flatten the shrimp, this is called a butterfly cut. Place the cornmeal in a small bowl and season with salt and pepper. Toss the shrimp well in the flour, then fry in hot oil on all sides. Meanwhile, mix the ingredients of the dip together. Serve both together.
