Reissalat aus Resten – Rice Salad from Leftovers

2 Mins read

We live in China and sometimes have leftovers of rice. Rice is a stable in the diet of Asians. Each day rice will be served with vegetables and a little meat or fish. We don’t cook that often rice, but we also aren’t Asian. But sometimes we have some leftovers. This time I also had some leftover chicken and what can you make with that? Of course, rice salad! This is a very tasty way to use leftovers! All you need are some canned or frozen vegetables and immediately you have a new dish! What you mix into your rice salad is up to you, just be creative!

Man braucht:
Reste von gekochtem weissem Reis
Reste von gegrilltem Huhn
1/2 Dose Maiskoerner
2 Handvoll gefrorene Erbsen

Salatsauce:
100 g Saure Sahne
4 EL Mayonnaise
3 EL Curry Pulver
Salz und Pfeffer
Paprika

You need:
Leftovers of cooked white Rice
Leftovers of cooked or grilled Chicken
1/2 can Corn
2 Handful frozen Peas

Salad Sauce:
100 g Sour-cream
4 tbsp Mayonnaise
3 tbsp Curry Powder
Salt and Pepper
Paprika
3 tbsp Milk
3 tbsp Olive Oil

Pull the cooked rice apart, so it will not stick together anymore. Pull the skin off the chicken and cut the meat into small pieces. Soak the frozen peas in hot water for 5 minutes, then drain them. Mix the rice with the vegetables and the chicken. Mix the ingredients for the salad sauce together and pour over the salad, mix well. This salad is done in no time!
