Tomaten-Frischkaese Terrine – Tomato Cream Cheese Terrine

2 Mins read

If you like to serve a visually beautiful starter (or snack), you could serve this terrine. You can play nicely with the colors, and if you layer them slightly tilted, it looks really good. But you could also make stripes, if you like. It doesn’t only look nice it is also delicious! I like these starters, they are very easy to do.

Fuer 6-8 Portionen:
Fuer die Tomatenmischung:
1 Zwiebel, fein gehackt
2 Knoblauchzehen, fein gehackt
1 kg Tomaten
Oel zum Braten
Salz und Pfeffer
Chili Pulver
1 Beutel Gelierpulver

Fuer die Kaesemischung:
400 g Frischkaese mit Kraeutern
100 ml Sahne
1 Beutel Gelierpulver
Paprika
Chili Pulver
Pfeffer

Kalt servieren. Dazu passt Knaeckebrot!

For 6-8 Portions:
For the Tomato Mixture:
1 Onion, chopped
2 cloves of Garlic, chopped
1 kg Tomatoes
Oil for frying
Salt and Pepper
Chili Powder
1 Bag Jelly Powder

For the Cheese Mixture:
400 g Herb Cream Cheese
100 ml Whipping Cream
1 Bag Jelly Powder
Paprika
Chili Powder
Pepper

Cut a cross into the skin of the tomatoes and put them into a bowl with boiling hot water. Let rest for 5 minutes, then peel the skin off. Chop them. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion and garlic until soft, then add the copped tomatoes and season very well! Let cook until the liquid from the tomatoes has reduced. Then pour into a blender and puree. Dissolve the jelly powder in 100 ml warm water and add to the tomatoes, blend again. Pour into a bowl and set aside.

For the cheese mixture again dissolve the jelly powder in 100 ml warm water. Mix the cheese with the whipping cream, season well and add the dissolved jelly powder. Mix well.

Stand the glasses crooked in a cupcake pan (or similar) and add the cheese mixture. Let rest for 5 minutes to let it set. Then stand them up and fill in the tomato mixture. Let cool in the fridge for at least 3 hours. Then decorate with Pesto (I used my Pili Pesto) and top with some sprouts, micro leaves or watercress. Serve cold with some crackers!
