Chinese Shrimp Toast with Sesame

2 Mins read

I have eaten these small triangular shrimp toasts at our Chinese restaurants very often. Now I wanted to do my own version of them. They are so very easy and quickly done and if you bake them in the Airfryer, like me, they don’t need oil. They are a quick and perfect finger-food for any party. Once you tried them, you will bake them again!

Fuer 20 kleine Toestchen:
5 Toastbrot Scheiben
250 g rohe Garnelen, geschaelt und Vene entfernt
5 cm Lemongrass
2 TL Ingwer, gerieben
1 EL Fish Sauce
1 Prise Salz
3 Fruehlingszwiebeln
2 EL Chili Bean Paste (wer’s scharf mag nimmt Sambal Oelek)
Sesam

For 20 small Triangles:
5 Toast bread Slices
250 g raw Shrimps, peeled and Vein removed
5 cm Lemongrass
2 tsp Ginger, grated
1 tbsp Fish Sauce
1 Pinch of Salt
3 Spring-onions
2 tbsp Chili Bean Paste (if you like it spicy use Sambal Oelek)
Sesame

Beat the lemongrass flat, so it breaks, then chop it. Grate the ginger, chop the spring-onions, and put this together with the chili bean paste, salt, fish sauce and shrimps into the blender and puree to a paste.
Spread this paste onto the toast bread slices, well to the crust, so the whole bread slice is covered. Cut the slices into 4 triangles.
Put them into the Airfryer and fry on 180 C for 8 minutes.
If you don’t have an Airfryer you can fry the triangles in hot oil, first shrimp side down for 2-3 minutes, then turn them over and fry another minute.
You can serve them hot or cold.
