Christmas Trees with Salmon as Appetizer

Pane-bistecca
It’s Christmas time, especially here in the Philippines. You already have Christmas music in the shopping centers since September and the decorations shine magnificently everywhere, on every corner, as if there were no energy shortage. Presumably that message hasn’t reached here yet!

From magnificent to kitschy everything shines, Santa Klaus in a sleigh, Led Christmas trees, flashing in all colors, and stars that blink like in a race, you see it all. So, that I do not go mad from all the blinking, I warp into my kitchen and bake (not blinking) Christmas trees from puff pastry, salmon and cream cheese!

Ingredients

  • 1 rectangular, rolled out Puff Pastry

  • 200 g Cream Cheese

  • 4 tablespoons Horseradish Mustard

  • 200 g smoked Salmon

  • Wooden Skewers

Instructions

1

Step 1

Lay out the puff pastry. Mix the cream cheese well with the horseradish mustard, then spread it on the pastry. Spread the salmon on top.
2

Step 2

Cut 2 cm wide strips and fold each strip individually into a tree. It should be 5 cm wide at the bottom and 1 cm at the top, which means you fold the strip into several folds.
3

Step 3

Pierce the skewer in the middle and place the little trees on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
4

Step 4

Leave to cool in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Then bake in the oven at 200 C degrees for about 25 minutes.
