Franzoesische Salatsauce – French Dressing

1 Mins read

I love French dressing, thin and nicely seasoned. When I make dressing, I use to make a lot more than I need. The work amount is the same as with small amounts. You can keep the dressing in the fridge for up to one week at least. So, it’s worth making a bit more.
There are many recipes for French dressing; some with or without mayonnaise, some with or without yogurt. That means you have to try to make different sauces until you find your favorite. This one is perfect for me!

Fuer ca 800 ml Sauce:
1 Knoblauchzehe, gepresst
100 g Joghurt
1 EL Senf
1 EL Mayonnaise
2 Eigelb
150 ml Apfelessig
400 ml Sonnenblumenoel
50 ml Wasser
Salz und Pfeffer
Salatkraeuter
Etwas Chili

For approx. 800 ml Sauce:
1 clove of Garlic, pressed
100 g Yogurt
1 tbsp Mustard
1 tbsp Mayonnaise
2 Egg-yolks
150 ml Cider Vinegar
400 ml Sunflower Oil
50 ml Water
Salt and Pepper
Herbs for Salads
some Chili

Mix all ingredients, except the oil, together with a whisk. Then let the oil slowly dribble in while whisking. Fill the dressing into bottles and keep in the fridge for up to one week.
