Glutenfreie Kakao Taler – Gluten-free Cocoa Cookies

1 Mins read

JH. in ganz Europa ausgebreitet hatte.

Taler or Thaler? Since 1902 the German spelling is without the H! In English the H is still there. A Thaler is a big silver coin, used from 1500 as a payment method in the European area. The Low German word was adopted in English as daler by 1550 and modified to dollar 100 years later.

But my Thalers are not as hard as silver, but nice and crisp and delicious. They are gluten-free and that’s why not only my daughter is happy, but everyone who also has a gluten allergy!

Glutenfreie Kakao Taler

Für ca 30 Taler:
1 Prise Salz
250 g weiche Butter
2 Eier
300 g glutenfreies Mehl
100 g Maisstaerke
125 g Puderzucker
1 TL Vanillezucker

1 Pinch of Salt
250 g soft Butter
2 Eggs
300 g gluten-free Flour
100 g Cornstarch
125 g Icing Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Sugar
2 tbsp Cocoa Powder

Quickly knead a dough with these ingredients and put into the fridge for at least 3 hours.
Roll the dough out at least 5 mm thick. Cut discs and print with the stamp as you wish. Bake in the oven at 180 C for 10-15 minutes. Let them cool completely before taking them from the tray to avoid breaking them.
