Gorgonzola Butter

2 Mins read

With all the grill meats and vegetables you have to serve a herb butter. Actually, herb butter is not the right word, I made a Gorgonzola butter. Unusual? But it’s very delicious!
I found the recipe in the magazine “So isst Italien” Juni/July 2015 and tried it!
I served it with some crispy chicken and my son gobbled it down! He always loved Gorgonzola, he devoured it already as a 2-year-old! He is a real Italian!

Fuer 4-6 Personen:
2 Stiele Thymian
100 g weiche Butter

For 4-6 Persons:
2 twigs Thyme
100 g soft Butter
50 g Gorgonzola (you can also use any other Blue Cheese)
Salt and black Pepper

Wash the thyme and shake it dry. Take off the leaves and chop them. Mix the butter with the Gorgonzola and thyme, season with salt and pepper. Now either form a roll or put them into ice-cube trays. Freeze them, but take them out into the fridge 1 hour before being used.

Tip from “So isst Italien”:
Serve the Gorgonzola butter to roasted bread or grilled vegetables. You may add 1 tsp grated skin of an orange or 1 tsp orange juice to the butter for freshness.

Tip from me:
Serve the Gorgonzola butter to crispy chicken or pork fillet, or use it on beef fillet au gratin.
