BBQ Sauce

1 Mins read

The grilling season has started and so we all can burn our fingers again on the hot coal or on the metal part of our gas grills. To grilling there can be added many foods, not just meat and vegetables. I like to add the American BBQ Sauce. I know, not everyone likes this sticky sweet sauce, but it fits well to ribs and steaks. On my BBQ’s I always add different sauces and also chutney’s as I think this fits too.

Here is my version of the famous BBQ Sauce!

1 Zwiebel, fein gehackt
2 Knoblauchzehen, fein gehackt
100 g Honig
250 g Ketchup
2 EL weisser Essig
1 EL Dijonsenf
1 EL Worcestershire Sauce
Saft einer halben Zitrone
4 EL Brandy
2 EL Sonnenblumenoel
1/2 TL schwarzer Pfeffer

1 Onion, chopped
2 cloves of Garlic, chopped
100 g Honey
250 g Ketchup
2 tbsp Vinegar
1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
the Juice of half a Lemon
4 tbsp Brandy
2 tbsp Sunflower Oil
1/2 tbsp black Pepper

Fry the onion and garlic in the oil until translucent. Add all other ingredients and let simmer for 15 minutes. I then puree it with the handheld mixer. Let cool and pour into clean jars. If stored in the fridge this sauce can be kept up to 8 weeks.
