Die Grillsaison hat angefangen und somit darf man sich wieder die Finger vebrennen an der heissen Holzkohle oder dem Gitter des Gasgrills. Zum Grillen gehoeren aber auch noch andere Zutaten als Fleisch und Gemuese, zum Beispiel ist heutzutage die BBQ Sauce kaum mehr wegzudenken. Sie stammt auch Amerika und ist klebrig suess. Nicht alle moegen sie, aber zu Rippen und Steak passt sie einfach gut. Ich stelle bei meinen BBQ’s immer mehrere Saucen auf, oft auch Chutney’s, denn die passen auch super dazu.

Hier ist meine einfache Version der bekannten BBQ Sauce!

The grilling season has started and so we all can burn our fingers again on the hot coal or on the metal part of our gas grills. To grilling there can be added many foods, not just meat and vegetables. I like to add the American BBQ Sauce. I know, not everyone likes this sticky sweet sauce, but it fits well to ribs and steaks. On my BBQ’s I always add different sauces and also chutney’s as I think this fits too. 

Here is my version of the famous BBQ Sauce!

1 Zwiebel, fein gehackt
2 Knoblauchzehen, fein gehackt
100 g Honig
250 g Ketchup
2 EL weisser Essig
1 EL Dijonsenf
1 EL Worcestershire Sauce
Saft einer halben Zitrone
4 EL Brandy
2 EL Sonnenblumenoel
1/2 TL schwarzer Pfeffer

Die Zwiebel und die Knoblauchzehen im Oel glasig braten. Alle anderen Zutaten dazu geben und ca 15 Minuten koecheln lassen. Ich pueriere sie mit dem Mixstab danach. Auskuehlen lassen und in ein sauberes Glas abfuellen. Im Kuehlschrank ist die Sauce ca 8 Wochen haltbar.

1 Onion, chopped
2 cloves of Garlic, chopped
100 g Honey
250 g Ketchup
2 tbsp Vinegar
1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
the Juice of half a Lemon
4 tbsp Brandy
2 tbsp Sunflower Oil
1/2 tbsp black Pepper

Fry the onion and garlic in the oil until translucent. Add all other ingredients and let simmer for 15 minutes. I then puree it with the handheld mixer. Let cool and pour into clean jars. If stored in the fridge this sauce can be kept up to 8 weeks.
