Who am I?

My name is Wilma, I’m a food blogger, an enthusiastic cook and baker, I’m half Italian, half Swiss and I’ve lived in Asia for over half my life. When I was a child, I loved looking into the pots of my Italian mother, who treated us to her delicacies from Italy. This awakened my love for cooking.

I actually started blogging because my children were studying all over the world. I kept getting requests for a recipe and at some point, I just started a blog. Meanwhile, my three children cook and bake my recipes and share theirs on my blog too!

What do I like most?

Cooking and baking for my family and friends. I also teach cooking classes and I love traveling! I do a lot of handicrafts, I have rediscovered painting, I renovate furniture, I make pottery, do glass fusing and much more.

Of course, not all of the recipes were written by me, a few were cooked and baked by friends and other family members. I am very happy to be able to introduce some guest bloggers on my site! Of course, my children, my sister and many friends help me with their contributions! This will make my blog even more international! I am also a member of several cooking communities, and we do several events throughout the year. These recipes are all on my blog or linked to my posts!

We lived in Hong Kong for thirty-three years, where I had the time of my life! Hong Kong is a mix of European and Asian culture, and that shows in the food. You can find street vendors selling traditional Chinese food next to an English pub. French restaurants are next to Italian pizzerias, and Russian restaurants across from open-air food markets. A paradise for me!

I had a rooftop garden where I hosted parties for 35-40 friends. My three children helped me cook, bake and prepare. At our house, we had grilled, homemade Swiss sausages with potato salad and lots of goodies. I once cooked 9 kg of lasagna, which was finished in 10 minutes.

After 33 years in Hong Kong, we retired and moved to the Philippines. There I got to know a vibrant mix of South Asian, Chinese and Spanish cuisine. I love the variety of vegetables and all the different adobos!
