Just like last year, I’m taking part in Feedmeupbeforeyougogo’s Foodblogbilanz 2024<\/a>. That’s for sure!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like last year, when we moved to another country, we had to move again this year. But this time in Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a bit complicated\u2026. We live in Asia, but had a rented apartment in Switzerland. Our son was living there permanently, so we also looked after him, as we are only ever in Europe for a short time, 1-2 times a year. However, as my son was quite far away from his workplace, we decided to move with him. So we had to travel back to Switzerland in the spring, because a move requires a lot of work and even more \u201cmucking out\u201d. Now we live right in the middle of Switzerland (when we are there). But now we’ve moved enough, next year I’m going on strike!!!<\/p>\n\n\n

We also celebrated a wonderful wedding anniversary this year in one of the most beautiful restaurants in the Philippines. Cheers to the year 2025!<\/p>\n\n\n

What was your most successful blog article in 2024?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Scarpaccia di Zucchine <\/a>is clearly the most-read recipe of 2024! It’s a very simple summer recipe! Since many have a zucchini glut in summer, this recipe is definitely perfect! Wonderfully crispy and with so much flavor, a treat!<\/p>\n\n\n

Which three of your own blog articles from this year have meant the most to you personally?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I enjoy hosting, especially for friends who are close to my heart, I have made an effort to refine my recipes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These include various capriccios, such as the tuna carpaccio,<\/a> which is often on the table with either tuna or salmon. A light refreshment on hot summer days. Yes, I often say on hot summer days, because I live in a very hot country!<\/p>\n\n\n

Then the Asian-inspired spaghetti sauce, <\/a>which also goes well with rice noodles or rice noodles, but also with polenta and rice! Our friends couldn’t get enough of it! The Asian spices make the difference!<\/p>\n\n\n

And then there are the rice paper dumplings<\/a>, with all kinds of fillings! They are very often on the table because they are also gluten-free! Fill them with whatever you have at home! You can make much more than just spring rolls with these rice noodle slices!<\/p>\n\n\n

And which three from other blogs have inspired you the most?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year I discovered Ottolenghi! He has wonderful recipes that everyone likes, such as his eggplant courgette and yoghurt upside-down cake<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n

Andreas Caminada showed me how to make pizokel with quark<\/a> and I’ve had to cook it many times!<\/p>\n\n\n

And Jenny from Jenny is baking Queque de platano or banana bread in Peruvian – Jenny is baking Queque de Plantano<\/a> is regularly on my baking plan, as we have so many plantains here.<\/p>\n\n\n

Which of the recipes you published in 2024 did you cook most often yourself – and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lemon salmon!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

because it’s great for invitations. Little work, just pop it in the oven, great taste and served with a mayonnaise dip\u2026 schmatz! It couldn’t be easier!<\/p>\n\n\n

What cooking or blogging problem did you face in 2024? And did you solve it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, my design was totally outdated, so my blog had to be redesigned. A dear friend helped me with this, he redesigned everything. My daughter made the new blog banner and all I had to do was insert it. Of course, not everything went smoothly, so a few entries disappeared that fell by the wayside when the blog was moved over. (e.g. the food blog review 2023) I’m still working on writing the old entries in the new design, which is a huge job with over 1000 recipes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What was your biggest new culinary discovery this year – which food, which recipe, which kitchen technique, which taste opened up a whole new world for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m not a fan of very spicy food, but I really liked gochujang, the chili paste from Korea. It has so much umami and is not too spicy! I use it a lot!<\/p>\n\n\n

What was the best (or funniest) search term that brought visitors to your blog?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was nothing funny at all! Too bad!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you wish for yourself and your blog in 2025?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clearly that I and you all continue to enjoy it and that many of my recipes are cooked\/baked. But I would also be very happy to receive comments, as nothing is written, so I don’t know whether the recipes are just looked up or also cooked. You can also give hearts!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now I would like to thank all my family and friends who blog with me, provide recipes, taste dishes, give tips and cook\/bake for their support! It’s fun to sit at the table with you and hear the words: \u201cCan we eat now or do you still need to take photos?\u201d It shows how much they think for themselves! \ud83d\ude0a<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the best thing is when my friend tells me: \u201cI have to make your chicken adobo<\/a> for my family almost every weekend, they’re addicted to it!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n
