The Basilica region in Italy was then known as Lucania and this is where this sausage comes from. \nToday, this sausage can be found all over Italy, but it is said to be best in Lombardy, where it is used in risottos.  I use it in <a href=\"https:\/\/pane-bistecca.com\/2019\/09\/18\/italienische-wurst-bolognese-italian-sausage-bolognese\/\">Tomato sauce<\/a>, instead of minced beef. \n        <br><br>\n\t\tAnd I dared to make this sausage myself for my sweetheart&#8217;s birthday. He likes sausages and he likes them spicy! And as there are always restaurant and deli owners and chefs at our parties, I always must come up with something unusual to serve up.
