Aloo means potatoes and Dum means slow cooking\/steaming. This recipe is served with many curries and white rice is also eaten with it, so it is a dish in itself. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>There are many ways to cook Aloo Dum, with or without yogurt and with or without cashew nuts. Since the dish is cooked in Nepal, Himalayan area, Kashmir, Punjab and many more places, there are also so many ways. Dann sch\u00e4len. Die Kurkuma mit dem Chili, Ingwer, Knoblauch, K\u00fcmmel Pulver und Koriander Pulver in einem kleinen Sch\u00fcsselchen mischen, dann Wasser dazu geben. Das Oel in einer flachen Pfanne erhitzen und die K\u00fcmmel Samen darin braten bis sie knacken. Dann die Gew\u00fcrzmischung dazu geben, ACHTUNG, es spritzt!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Die Sauce ca 4-5 Minuten kurz einkochen, dann die Kartoffeln dazu geben. Etwas Salz dazu geben, dann zugedeckt ca. 6-10 Minuten kochen lassen. Mit gehacktem Koriander bestreuen und servieren.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">************<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>For 4 People:<\/em><br \/><em>600 g Baby Potatoes<\/em><br \/><em>1 tbsp Cumin Seeds<\/em><br \/><em>1 tbsp Turmeric<\/em><br \/><em>1 tbsp Ginger, grated<\/em><br \/><em>1 tbsp Garlic, grated<\/em><br \/><em>1 tbsp Chili Powder<\/em><br \/><em>\u00bd tbsp Coriander Powder<\/em><br \/><em>\u00bd tbsp Cumin Powder<\/em><br \/><em>Salt<\/em><br \/><em>2 tbsp Oil<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Steam the potatoes and let them cool. Then peel them. Mix the turmeric with the chili, ginger, garlic, cumin powder and coriander powder in a small bowl, then add water. Heat the oil in a shallow pan and fry the cumin seeds until they crack. Then add the spice mixture, CAUTION, it splatters! <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Cook the sauce for about 4-5 minutes, then add the potatoes. Add a little salt, then cover and cook for about 6-10 minutes.
