Obwohl der Ursprung dieses Geb\u00e4cks nicht klar ist, glaubt man dass es aus dem maritimen S\u00fcdost Asien stammt, mit Einfluss der englischen <a href=\"https:\/\/pane-bistecca.com\/2019\/11\/09\/cornish-pasties-traditional-british-pastry\/\">Cornish Pastry,<\/a> den portugiesischen <a href=\"https:\/\/pane-bistecca.com\/2018\/09\/21\/empanadas-from-the-philippines\/\">Empanadas<\/a> und den indischen Samosas. Es gibt mehrere solcher Geb\u00e4cke, mit verschiedenen F\u00fcllungen, aber die Curry Puffs sind die Bekanntesten. Man kennt dieses Geb\u00e4ck in Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesien, Singapur, Myanmar, Indien und Thailand. Sie k\u00f6nnen gebacken oder frittiert werden und je nach Land haben sie andere F\u00fcllungen. Nat\u00fcrlich nimmt dieses Geb\u00e4ck am Blogevent der <a href=\"https:\/\/volkermampft.de\/die-besten-rezepte-und-gerichte-aus-singapur-asiatische-crossover-kueche\/\">Kulinarischen Weltreise von Volkermampft<\/a> teil, die diesen Monat nach Singapur geht, teil.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">************<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Although the origin of this pastry is not clear, it is believed to have come from maritime Southeast Asia, with influence from <a href=\"https:\/\/pane-bistecca.com\/2019\/11\/09\/cornish-pasties-traditional-british-pastry\/\">English Cornish pastry<\/a>, Portuguese <a href=\"https:\/\/pane-bistecca.com\/2018\/09\/21\/empanadas-from-the-philippines\/\">empanadas<\/a> and Indian samosas. There are several such pastries, with different fillings, but the curry puffs are the best known. These pastries are known in Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Myanmar, India, and Thailand. They can be baked or deep fried and have different fillings depending on the country. Of course, this pastry is taking part in the blog event of <a href=\"https:\/\/volkermampft.de\/die-besten-rezepte-und-gerichte-aus-singapur-asiatische-crossover-kueche\/\">Volkermampft&#8217;s Culinary World Tour<\/a>, which is going to Singapore this month. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pane-bistecca.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/cur15-1-1024x723.jpg\" alt=\"Curry Puffs \u2013 Food from Singapore\" class=\"wp-image-13779\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">F\u00fcr ca. 8 St\u00fccke:<br><strong>Teig:<\/strong><br>300 g Mehl (ich habe glutenfreies ben\u00fctzt)<br>1 Prise Salz<br>110 g kalte Butter<br>1 Ei<br>100 ml kaltes Wasser<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Das Mehl mit dem Salz vermischen und die Butter in St\u00fccken zugeben. Mit der K\u00fcchenmaschine schnell kneten und dabei das Ei und das Wasser langsam zugeben, bis es ein feiner Teig ist. Im K\u00fchlschrank mindestens 30 Minuten ruhen lassen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>F\u00fcllung:<\/strong><br>1 rote Zwiebel, gehackt<br>2 Knoblauchzehen, gehackt<br>2 EL Oel<br>4 gekochte Kartoffeln, in kleine W\u00fcrfel geschnitten<br>1 H\u00fchnerbrust, in kleine W\u00fcrfel geschnitten<br>2 Lorbeer Bl\u00e4tter<br>1 EL Curry Pulver<br>100 ml Wasser<br>\u00bd TL Kurkuma<br>Salz und Pfeffer<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Das Oel erhitzen und Knoblauch und Zwiebel darin anbraten. Dann das H\u00fchnerfleisch dazu geben, gut w\u00fcrzen. Die Lorbeer Bl\u00e4tter dazu geben. Alles gut durchbraten, dann die Kartoffeln dazu geben. Das Wasser dazu giessen und einkochen lassen. Ausk\u00fchlen lassen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Den Teig sorgf\u00e4ltig auswallen und in ca. 10 cm Durchmesser Rondellen schneiden. Eine Rondelle auf die Handfl\u00e4che legen und ca. 2 TL der F\u00fcllung darauf geben. Zusammen falten und die Kanten mit dem Daumen sch\u00f6n einfalten, dass ein Rand entsteht. (siehe Bild) Der Teig ist sehr weich, man muss sehr vorsichtig arbeiten. Die Puffs auf ein Backpapier legen und im K\u00fchlschrank nochmals durch k\u00fchlen lassen. Im Ofen bei 180 C Grad ca. 30 Minuten backen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">************<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>For approx. 8 pieces:<\/em><br><em><strong>Dough:<\/strong><\/em><br><em>300 g flour (I used gluten-free)<\/em><br><em>1 pinch of salt<\/em><br><em>110 g cold butter<\/em><br><em>1 egg<\/em><br><em>100 ml cold water<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Mix the flour with the salt and add the butter in pieces. Knead quickly with a food processor, adding the egg and water slowly until it is a fine dough. Leave to rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>Filling:<\/strong><\/em><br><em>1 red Onion, chopped<\/em><br><em>2 cloves Garlic, chopped<\/em><br><em>2 tbsp Oil<\/em><br><em>4 boiled Potatoes, cut into small cubes<\/em><br><em>1 Chicken Breast, cut into small cubes<\/em><br><em>2 Bay Leaves<\/em><br><em>1 tbsp Curry Powder<\/em><br><em>100 ml Water<\/em><br><em>\u00bd tsp Turmeric<\/em><br><em>Salt and Pepper<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Heat the oil and fry the garlic and onion. Then add the chicken and season well. Add the bay leaves. Fry everything well, then add the potatoes. Pour in the water and let it boil down. Leave to cool.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Carefully roll out the dough and cut into rounds about 10 cm in diameter. Place one roundel on the palm of your hand and put about 2 tsp of the filling on it. Fold together and fold (crimp) the edges in nicely with your thumb to make a rim. (see picture) The dough is very soft, so be careful when working. Place the puffs on a sheet of baking paper and chill again in the fridge.
