Er war ausserhalb Rom&#8217;s, in der Naehe der Familie seiner Frau begraben. Also fuhren wir mit der Schwaegerin meiner Mutter und deren Sohn an einem Sonntag ueber Land, um das Grab und die vielen Verwandten zu besuchen. Es war Feigenzeit und bei allen Verwandten standen grosse Teller voller Feigen und Schinken bereit. Meine Mutter, ein grosser Feigenfan, die in der Schweiz damals keine bekam, ass und ass und ass.<br \/>\nAm Abend, auf dem Nachhauseweg, wurde ihr uebel und sie musste am Randstreifen der Autobahn kurz austreten.<br \/>\n1 Jahr spaeter, beim naechsten Besuch in Rom, fuhren wir auf der Autobahn, als mein Cousin ploetzlich auf den Randstreiifen fuehr und anhielt. &#8220;Zia, (Tante) hier werden wir ein Denkmal errichten! Hier hast du das letzte Mal Geschichte geschrieben&#8221;<br \/>\nIch habe feine Feigen gefunden und habe sie ganz einfach mit Ziegenkaese gefuellt und etwas Honig dazu gegeben. So einfach und so gut!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">************<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The figs are ripe!<\/em><br \/>\n<em>If I see figs I have to think of a story from my childhood:<\/em><br \/>\n<em>When I was a child, we went to Rome to visit our family. My mother also wanted to visit the grave of her brother who died very young. The\u00a0cemetery\u00a0was outside\u00a0Rome in the countryside, close to the family of his widow.\u00a0\u00a0One Sunday we drove with my mum&#8217;s sister-in-law and her son out to the countryside. On the way we were also welcomed by the families of my auntie. The figs were ripe and everywhere we went we were served plates of figs and ham. My mother, a big fan of figs, who never could get some in Switzerland at that time, ate and ate and ate. Of course on our way home she felt sick and had to step out of the car on the side of the highway.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>1 year later, on our next visit to Rome, we drove on the highway and suddenly my cousin stopped the car on the side of the highway. &#8220;Zia&#8221; (auntie) he said, &#8220;we will put a monument here! This is where you made history last year!&#8221;<\/em><br \/>\n<em>I found some nice figs and I stuffed them with goat cheese and dribbled some honey onto them. Delicious!<\/em><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-3661 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/pane-bistecca.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/fei7-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"683\" height=\"1024\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">8 reife Feigen<br \/>\n1 Pack Chavroux Ziegenkaese (150 g)<br \/>\nEtwas Honig<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Die Feigen oben im Kreuz einschneiden. Den Ziegenkaese mit einer Gabel schaumig ruehren und davon etwas in die Einschnitte der Feigen fuellen. Die Feigen auf einen Teller geben und mit etwas Honig betraeufeln.<br \/>\nSofort servieren!\u200b<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>************<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>8 ripe Figs<\/em><br \/>\n<em>1 Pack Chavroux Goat Cheese (150 g)<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Some Honey<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Cut a cross into the figs.\u00a0<\/em><em>With a fork whip\u00a0the goat cheese until soft and foamy.
