\n These are the Banana Chips from Michael V. I am in two Facebook groups, where Expats from Germany\/Switzerland and Austria exchange recipes and pictures of their cooked delights. One of those groups has mainly people who live now in Asia, mostly Thailand. Of course, if you cook in an Asian country you often don’t get the ingredients, who are normal in Europe. You have to be creative and find an alternative. I can tell you lots of stories, how I tried to cook menus\u00a0and didn’t get what I wanted.\u00a0\u00a0\n

\nOf course, one also tries to cook the traditional dishes of the host country, and that’s what Michael V. has done! He made these delicious Banana Chips! He is no greenhorn in cooking, he has worked for many years in the gastronomy sector and knows very well, how much work is involved, when cooking a meal. Here is his recipe!\n

    Step 1<\/h4><\/div>\n
    As an aperitif or simply to enjoy between meals. Salted banana chips have the same addictive potential as potato chips. Here in Thailand, they are sometimes sprinkled with sugar after frying or tossed in liquid caramel syrup water. Nicely packaged in cellophane bags, they are also a welcome gift for visits or invitations. But the salted ones remain my favorite.\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

    Step 2<\/h4><\/div>\n
    Ideally made with the small, still green bananas that are available here in Thailand\/Asia. Peel the bananas and place them in salted water to prevent them from turning brown. You need a knife to peel the bananas, as the skin is very hard and cannot be removed by hand.\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

    Step 3<\/h4><\/div>\n
    Slice the bananas with a peeler and deep-fry in batches, place in a sieve to drain, salt and shake immediately. Transfer to a tray or large plate lined with absorbent kitchen paper and leave to cool.\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
