Christmassy Prussien/Palmier

Pane-bistecca
We really like Prussien/Palmier, my son could devour whole packs. They really are super easy to make too! Here are my Christmassy Prussien/Palmier.

But what you need is a very good quality puff pastry. I got mine from a friend, a baker and chocolatier and a dear friend of the family. I think it’s a shame if the puff pastry doesn’t taste really good, because then all the work is for nothing. But making puff pastry yourself is very time-consuming!

Ingredients

  • 300 g Puff Pastry

  • green and red Sugar

  • if you don’t want them to be Christmassy, simply use normal granulated sugar

Instructions

1

Step 1

Roll out the puff pastry thinly into a rectangle. I then cut mine in half lengthways so that I had two long strips about 10-12 cm wide.
2

Step 2

Sprinkle the puff pastry with green and red sugar and roll up tightly from both sides to form a heart shape. Wrap the rolls in cling film and leave to harden in the fridge for 1 hour.
3

Step 3

As soon as they are hard, they are easier to cut. Cut them into slices about 5 mm thick, place them on a baking tray and bake them at 200 C degrees for about 15-20 minutes.

Notes

They can be kept in the fridge in an airtight container for about 8 days. Here are Chorizo Prussien,Prussien with Ham and Prussien with Pumpkin.
