Spargel-Risotto Puffer

Eigentlich waere ich heute zum Blumenmarkt gegangen...
... aber wir haben grad rote Wolke, das heisst, es regnet ueber 50 ml in einer Stunde und es ist stockfinster draussen, das um halb 10 Uhr frueh. Ja, es ist Regenzeit bei uns und dies ist nicht unueblich. Gestern schien die Sonne, heute gibts Regenguesse. 
Aber eigentlich haette ich meinen Dachgarten fuer die Geburtstagsparty meines Mannes in 10 Tagen schoen machen wollen, doch ich kann ja nicht aus dem Haus. So sitze ich hier und mache eben einen Blogeintrag!
Das farbige Wolken-Warnsystem hier in Hong Kong ist genial!
​Es beginnt mit einer orangen Wolke, das heisst dann, dass sehr viel Regen faellt und evt. eine hoehere Warnung gehisst werden kann.
Bei roter Wolke sagt die Wetterwarte ganz klar, passt auf! Bleibt zuhause, es kann Ueberschwemmungen geben!
Und wenn's ganz schlimm ist, hissen sie die schwarze Wolke, da schliessen alle Schulen, Geschaefte, der Verkehr steht still. 

Vor kurzem habe ich Euch das Rezept fuer den Risotto agli Asparagi gebracht. Ich koche ja immer gerne etwas mehr, denn die Arbeit ist die selbe. Danach kann ich dann aus den Resten etwas Neues zuabern, denn nur aufwaermen ist nicht so meine Sache. 
Ich habe aus den Resten Puffer gemacht und die schoen knusprig gebraten.

Fuer 2 Personen als Zutat zu Fleisch oder Gemuese:
Spargel-Risotto Reste (oder andere Risottoreste)
4 EL Mehl
1 Ei
6 EL Panko (Japanische Brotbroesel) oder Paniermehl
Sonnenblumenoel

Aus den kalten Risottoresten Handgrosse Puffer formen, gut zusammendruecken. Die Staerke im Risotto will ihn klebrig machen, so dass alles gut zusammen klebt.
Die Puffer etwas Flach druecken, dann erst im Mehl, dann im verschlagenen Ei und zuletzt im Panko/Paniermehl wenden.
Alle beidseitig im heissen Oel braten.

Asparagus Risotto Patties


​Actually, today I wanted to go shopping at the flower market....
... but we have the red cloud warning issued and it's pitch dark outside at half past 9 in the morning. The red cloud means it rainfall is more than 50 ml per hour. Yes, it's rainy season and it's not unusual to be raining so heavily here.
Yesterday sunshine, today heavy rain!

But I just wanted to prepare my roof garden for my husbands upcoming birthday party. But I cannot leave the house. So I am sitting here to write this entry into my blog! 
The colored cloud warning system here in Hong Kong is brilliant!
It starts with the amber cloud, that is telling you that a lot of rain will be falling or has already been falling and you should stay alert. 
When they issue the red cloud it means there is more than 50 ml of rain falling and it can get flooded in certain low lying areas. Stay home and don't go out. 
But when the black cloud is issued all schools close, shops close, buses and taxis don't drive anymore. 


A short while ago I brought you the classic recipe for a Asparagus Risotto. I usually cook a little more, so I can use the leftovers for a new dish. Just heating up leftovers is not my thing. I made patties from these leftovers and made them real crisp. 
They tasted wonderful!


For 2 Persons as side dish to meat or vegetables:
Asparagus-Risotto leftovers (or other Risotto leftovers)
4 tbsp Flour
1 Egg
6 tbsp Panko (Japanese Breadcrumbs) or Breadcrumbs
Sunflower Oil

Form patties from the cold risotto leftovers. Push the rice well together, through the starch of the rice they will stick together. 
Slightly flatten the patties and then turn them over first in flour, then in the beaten egg and lastly in the panko. 
Fry in the hot oil on both sides until well browned. 
Serve hot!
